Shared foot and cycle bridge at Lagan Weir

How does the saying go? ... as much as a fish needs a bike ?

Erk! After a nice cycle ride along the river I'm faced with this four-lane highway. The cycle route seems to continue as unmarked shared use footway to the left.

This looks to me rather like an escape ramp off a busy road onto some shared use!

@MarkdavidLawlor This is why many cyclists prefer the roads (it's a Belfast cycle lane BTW) @blowersh @TwoWheelsWood http://t.co/lVQhU9bImB Original photo credit to @nigreenways https://witness.theguardian.com/user/nigreenways

Titanic Quarter's finest! A cycle lane barely the width of the double yellows underneath. At least it's mandatory! http://t.co/LwGOSSIJww

We build a perfectly good cycle lane (on this Belfast quasi-motorway) and look.. NO-ONE'S USING IT. Ungrateful wee.. http://t.co/emWGga2872
